There are no classes/professions, and you can "unlock" everything on one char. You can switch from a healer to a nuker and not be at a disadvantage.

On the contrary, 8/16/32 exist.

I disagree. There is a "competitve" ladder which displays the best clans in every gametype, and the best clans in every realm fight each other.
Nothing can really be said about Fury yet, but it does look pretty promising so far.
Alleji? you in alpha as well?

Sadly, no. My computer isn't good enough to run it with current requirements and even when it comes out, I should barely be able to make the minimum, which they posted recently.
But I was planning to buy a new one before the end of the year, so this will just make me buy one faster :P

What do you mean by "super fast RPG combat"
Just that, Fury is easily the fastest MMO on the market. We took a serious look at game pacing and removed the RPG elements that slowed down combat in other games. Here's a couple of examples:
Cast times: 90% of all abilities in Fury are instant cast. This means that when you push the button, you get an immediate response. You don't have to wait 3 seconds for your fireball to go off.
Mana: There's no mana bar at all. This means that you never have to sit and wait for your 'fun bar' to recharge.

Yes you are Mendes. Fury is hopefully the game we are looking for. No grind, no bs pve, just pure good balanced and competetive pvp action. 100% of my guild rooster is patiently waiting for the betas to start.

Fury looks like it could be the GW replacement we've all been looking for but I might be wrong, too early to say.
That being said, this caught my eye. From features section of main site:
Free to play right out of the box, subscribing is optional.
Pretty much every game in the market that has optional subscribing, the subscribers get access to more powerful skills, better items, etc. If this is the case with Fury then its already lost my interest. Hopefully I'm wrong though, and subscribing just gives you cool looking items or whatever, not actual advantages in game.

You don't know what you're talking about.
Fury has 4v4, 8v8, 16v16, 32v32 and 32 player death match.
They promote guild play and have a guild ladder.
Tournaments will be a large part of Fury if it catches on.
You can have more than 1 character, but that character can switch between different 'incarnations' and essentially be a warrior, ele, monk, etc depending on how you set up for a particular match. So, there isn't much point in having more than 1 character.

Last thing I read was that the pricing scheme was still undecided, but players did raise issue with the type of system you're talking about.
Anyone else in the alpha?

The graphics of Fury sucks. I don't want my eye strained playing a computer game.

We are talking about competetive game in here Syra, when i want candy i can play some singleplayer FPS. Also, the graphics in fury is better than guild wars, the engine is more advanced, maps are bigger, 32vs32 games are possible.
The game will also promote ladder play, and guild teams. The game is supposed to be pvp only so the developers will focus on balacing things, maintainint competetive and fair meta, not focusing their attention anywhere else. Thats like a dream come true...

I don't get people singing praises about a game that is not guild wars and bashing guild wars in a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing guild wars forum. Maybe time to change forums?
And I still maintain that the graphics sucks. I saw some actual game screenies, not their concept art or whatnot. See before I delve into the mechanics, I make sure that the graphics is ok. It's like digging breasts, butts or other physical attributes before pursuing a chick. It's just me so.

Hopefully it turns out to be a great product. More importantly is the hope that the game is balanced and isnt infested with scrubs running mindless overpowered skills.

Looks like it could be good...not sure of a complete replacement, as it can only appeal to 50% of Guild Wars audience at the most. (No PvE)
Probebly try out beta...but not having a Mana bar should be weird.
On another not, it's amusing to see a Mod on a GW forum bashing GW...all while promoting another game o.O

My mod job is to keep forums nice, clean , tidy and ontopic. It doesnt include prasing whatever anet does, censoring things that can hurt their ego or not having my own opinion about other games in development. Im a human being not Anet ad-bot.

Hello my name is Syra and I have no clue what I am talking about.
Fury looks good on paper and plays "ok" (my laptop is fried so I have had very limited play time). Frankly, I can see how it could be an interesting game that has the potential to turn into something worthwhile if marketed correctly.
My main complaint with guildwars was that it was marketed as a cheap alternative for WoW and other MMOs, instead of as a balanced PvP game for "skilled" players. Fury doesn't have to worry about this, and if the gameplay turns out to be good and balanced, I can see it turning into a great competitive game with a big PvP community.

I haven't played Fury so I have nothing in it to compare with Guild Wars but the graphics since Fury's screenies and concept arts are in their god damn website. I'm a graphics person. As I've said in my previous post, before I consider playing a stupid computer game, I make sure that I really dig the graphics. I grabbed some actual in game screenies of Fury and compared it to what I got in my RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing hard disk and I did notice a lot of differences. Over all, Guild Wars rendering and graphics surpassed that of crappy Fury a lot. So I reiterate that Fury's graphics sucks.
See, I don't go by assumptions and press releases to compare something to something. Before I conclude that Fury is the next IT game, I have to lay my RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing hands on it.
BTW Have you played Fury or are you just relying on your emotions/assumptions?
AFAIK, Guild Wars was marketed as a game where there is less grind and only skill matters, not the bull crap that what you said.

Its funny how people praise a game that we have limited information on, calling it the Guild Wars killer and such, when it really isn't :\
Its Gameplay F.A.Q describing how cool it is sounds pretty much Copy+Paste from what Guild Wars was advertised as, minus PvE. There are different game types and a different system but its the same promise of "skill over grind" that we've heard for years now...
I have ALOT of reservations about this game. It'll have to prove itself to me.

I have played Fury for a grand total of maybe an hour because alpha hours are uncool, so no i am not relying on emotions and assumptions.
The game basically has many common gametypes (relic-run type games, deathmatch games, large scale ABs, etc), but offers some balance and a lot of flexibility in terms of what you can and can't play. It also has a competitve PvP ladder in every game type for guilds and individual players.
I was just comparing the way Fury feels to the way Guildwars felt when I first read about it, and they have a very similar message and PvP "moto", bar PvE.
The main difference is that guildwars was never marketed as a hardcore competitive PvP game, and Guildwars PvP was discovered "by accident". The game failed to attract competitive PvPers and develop a strong PvP base because it was advertized as a cheaper version of WoW for casual gamers, so naturally the game will never be at a competitive level.
Fury on the otherhand reaches a wider PvP audience and has great potential to develop into a fast-paced PvP game, even with all the wierd mechanics.
